Education in Ukraine

Foreigners come to Ukraine not only for beautiful wives, but also for higher education, which is usually several times cheaper here than in the West. At the same time, the quality of teaching in the leading universities of the country is not inferior to the general European one.

Would you like to change the scenery and get acquainted with the culture of another country? You can safely pack your bags and go to study in Ukraine, where some of the oldest universities in Europe are concentrated.

Of the reasons why foreigners leave their homes and go to study in a young state, the main ones are:

Ukrainian universities are included in the ranking of the best universities in the world. So, in 2014-2015, the TOP-800 included the Kiev National University named after T.G. Shevchenko (421st place), Kharkiv National University named after N.V. Karazin (481), National Technical University of Ukraine “KPI” (551), Sumy State University (651), National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” and Donetsk National University (both – 701).

Education in Ukraine is much cheaper than in other European countries, while the diplomas of Ukrainian universities are recognized in Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Estonia, as well as in China, Vietnam and other states.

The language barrier will not become an obstacle, because at universities that accept students from other countries, there are often preparatory courses (usually lasting 1 academic year). There you will improve the language (Ukrainian / English), and at the same time study the basic disciplines in your specialty. In addition, many universities have a Russian-language curriculum.
Applicants who studied in schools with the Ukrainian language can receive free higher education in Ukraine within the quotas established by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Foreign students receive a temporary residence permit in Ukraine.
Students of Ukrainian universities receive discounts on public transport, as well as visits to cultural institutions.
Most universities can apply online.
To enter a Ukrainian university, in most cases, foreign students only need to submit the required package of documents and pass an interview.

Ukraine is an inexpensive country to live in, but the services here are of very decent quality.

Most Ukrainian universities operate international student exchange programs. They are ideal for those who want to learn about the culture of another country, make new friends and acquaintances, compare the educational process at their own and a foreign university, etc.

Students from other countries, tied to their country by work, family, etc., can study in Ukraine by correspondence. But they will still have to personally submit documents to the selection committee and in the future come to sessions (twice a year). The main thing is to monitor the grades, because the student will be expelled for academic failure.

Ukraine is in the TOP-10 countries where the most foreign students study. To get a bachelor’s degree here, students need to gain knowledge at the alma mater for four years. After completing the course, the graduate is solemnly awarded a state diploma of higher education. With it, you can go home or continue your studies for the qualification of a specialist or master.

Most often, students from Africa and Central Asia come to Ukraine in large groups. In addition, young people from India, Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey and a number of other countries strive to get here.

Ukrainian technical and medical educational institutions are most popular among foreigners, because the most demanded professions in their homeland are doctor, engineer, economist. Aviation, agricultural specialties, veterinary medicine, international relations, economics, finance and others are also very popular.

It should be noted that not all Ukrainian universities have the right to accept foreign students for study or even for the preparatory department. Higher education in Ukraine for foreigners is available only at universities with the highest degree of accreditation – IV – and a special license. But the number of foreign students who can apply to study in Ukraine is not limited. At the same time, universities are obliged to provide students with places in a hostel or provide them with other housing – an apartment, a hotel room, etc.

Upon completion of training, when all sessions and sleepless nights are behind, students receive a Ukrainian diploma. In some countries, citizens who return home after studying abroad need to certify a document issued in Ukraine at the Ministry of Education.
